David Champagne is a jazz trumpeter, educator, and guest soloist whose work blends a deep respect for the jazz tradition with a clear, modern melodic voice. He has performed as a featured soloist at the Atlanta Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), and Jacksonville Jazz Festival, as well as the prestigious Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago. Champagne toured Poland in 2023 and 2025 with saxophonist Gregory Tardy as a member of the ICX Jazz Ensemble, appearing in concerts and educational settings. As an educator, David has taught as an Adjunct Trumpet Professor at Jacksonville University and the University of Mobile. He currently serves as Associate Pastor at Sunrise Community Church in Atlantic Beach, Florida, and leads his band, The Champagne Jazz Quintet. His album, Come Before Winter, produced by Grammy winning drummer Ulysses Owens Jr. Is set for release in early 2027.

David lives in Jacksonville with his wife Jody and their four children.
